Smash

I am a year late on this one (I know, what's new here)! I have just gotten to steal my rest time and finish up watching this two-season show and it was amazing! I took two or maybe three months to complete watching this show as the wedding of my future bro-in-law is nearing and I have been a bit busy here and there.

So before getting in on this one, it is that time of the year again! Christmas! To everyone celebrating it, have yourself a merry little Christmas! Hope you will have a good time with your loved ones. To those who are not, well, I love this time of the year because all the sales are coming in, and who does not enjoy sales going around!

Smash is a drama musical centres a group creating new musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. Julia Houston(Debra Messing) a lyricist working along with Tom Levitt(Christian Borle), a composer. These two came up with the idea of Bombshell. Of course it would not be complete without the producer Eileen(Anjelica Huston) and the director, Derek Wills(Jack Davenport). Two talented girls auditioned for the part of Marilyn. Karen Cartwright(Katharine McPhee) and Ivy Lynn(Megan Hilty). These two women is really good! I fell in love with their voices and that was what kept me going through the episodes.

In the second season, Karen met Kyle Bishop(Andy Mientus), a writer, and Jimmy Collins(Jeremy Jordan), a composer, two partners working together on a play and trying to get their work noticed. When their work, Hit List, is being recognised, along with some drama here and there, they got the show to Broadway.

Sadly, the show has been cancelled, so no more of Smash! It is really sad because I really like where the show is heading! Season two episode 14 I think, it is called The Phenomenon, is by far the saddest episode yet! Kyle's death hits everyone hard, including me, and I cried throughout the whole of this episode. Yeah, it just got way too emotional for me watching it at 1 in the morning in darkness and crying. Not doing that again because right after that episode, I just can't seem to fall asleep. I am so glad YouTube is always there to accompany me. Yes, guilty as I watch videos of Smash until I fall asleep.

Here are some of my favourites from the show!

And another...

Yes, this one too...

And this...

Well there is actually more! Their songs in the show is just so good! But well, I could just go on and on, but I will stop here.

Hope you all are doing well! Have a nice Christmas and have a happy new year! 2014 just went by so fast! To sum this up, I really enjoy musicals and it has been nice to have watch Smash even though for just two seasons! Because what is life without breaking out into a song expressing how things are!

Till then,
XOXO
