Shameless

Source

So the last few weeks have just been pretty occupied. But as you may know, I do still find time to squeeze in to catch up on my shows. It is what keeps me going weekly. A bit dramatic, but it really does. From all the stress from work, this is the only way I de-stress.

I have found a new love for Shameless. It is not something I usually watch due to some uncomfortable scenes; it is a bit too sexual for me, but I do love the drama. It is based off the series which is originally from the UK TV series in 2004. So far, it is on it's fifth season and yeah, a lot has been going on in the Gallagher's family.

What you can expect from the show is how the family survive to pay bills and the daily expenses for food with Fiona being their eldest sister, who keeps the family going without the help of their parents. Their single father, Frank Gallagher, is still in the picture but, he spends most of his free time getting high and drunk and most often waking up in unusual places. Mostly, not remembering what happened to him. Their mother, Monica is not around due to some medical issues she is having. You have to watch the show to find out about it, do not want to give things away.

The Gallagher family centers around a family named, Frank - Dad (William H. Macy), Monica-Mum, Fiona (Emmy Rossum), Lip ( Jeremy Allen White), Ian (Cameron Monaghan), Carl (Ethan Cutkosky), Debby(Emma Kenney) and Liam (Blake/Brennan Johnson).

What's interesting about this show is that they are actually telling stories of how a dysfunctional family goes through their life. And that things like these do actually happen to some families. Girl and boy problems especially in their teens wanting to explore, financial problems and having a father who is a freeloader, and Fiona, Lip and Ian having to work just to help keep the family together. What is amazing is that despite all the problems, the siblings manage to pull through and be there for one another. It is really nice to see that. How they care for one another and have each other's back.

Some of the other casts that you can expect from this show is their neighbour, who is also Fiona's best friend, Veronica (Shanola Hampton) and Kevin (Steve Howey). Others includes Justin Chatwin, Joan Cusack, Noel Fisher, Laura Wiggins and Emma Greenwell.

So, to conclude this, give this show a chance, maybe you will end up liking it.

Till then,
XOXO
