When is My Turn? Am I ready yet?

Recently, my girlfriend, 1/5, got engaged. Look at how beautiful she is! I have been pretty much having all these engagements going on lately, not a lot, but a fair amount. Not to mention seeing my friends back from school posting pictures of their engagement/wedding. How fast time flies and we are all in the stage of starting a new life with our own partners. It just feels like not long ago, I just graduated from Polytechnic, trying to get a job.

Growing up is pretty scary, we all have to go through it anyway. It is not easy, you will have to learn the difficulty of having to manage your own finance. Then think of applying for a house when you know you and your partner is serious about each other, just because it takes ages for the house to be ready (3-4 years for BTO), which at the same time gives you time to save up and get ready for when you want to settle down just in time for the house to be ready. It is hard, however we try our best to overcome it. They say that once you turn 21, your age will catch up with you quickly. Sadly, it is true. Not a while ago in December I just turned 22, and now we are in the month of April, and I'll be turning 23 this year, oh how I wish Neverland really do exists. But it doesn't matter, no one can tell how old I really am because I am blessed with a young face and I'm stuck in a ten year old body. Yeah, yeah, I am small what-so-ever.

For me, I don't know if I'm ready, or if I am ever going to be ready for all of this. Getting engaged, getting married, sharing a life with another person. I don't think I can ever tell if I'm really ready for this. I just have to go along with it and plan it well. I don't know the first thing about engagement/wedding preparation, however, I learn a bit here and there while preparing for Kak Aishah and Huda's engagement. I pretty much get the picture of what is supposed to be done. As for the wedding part, I have 2 weddings before mine to look forward for some tips. It is fun no matter how stressful it gets.

When is my turn? My turn for what you might ask? My turn to get engaged. I would say, no rush on this one, don't get me wrong, it is pretty exciting, and yes, of course I can't wait for it to be my turn. Almost every girl wants this to happen. Our engagement, is different from any other engagement. We do not have the 'bend down on one knee' kind of engagement. We have a small mini ceremony whereby the eldest family member from the man side will place the ring onto the lady's finger. Accompanied with some gifts.

So, when is my turn again? We're settling on next year (because boyfriend is really looking forward to it and well, so am I, obviously!). I will most definitely do it as simple as it may be. With just family members along with minimal group of friends. Because it is only engagement, I would just want within family members only. We'll have to see how the situation is. I am so very excited for this! Something I look forward to!

I hope you're having an amazing Sunday!

Till then,
XOXO
