Satisfaction and Appreciation.

Source: Quotes

For some of us, we feel satisfied over littlest of things. We tend to appreciate what people do for us even the smallest things. We pay attention to details like these and are often easily contented. We are grateful for the things people do for us. The word 'thank you' comes out very easily for most of us.

On the other hand, ever feel like what you seem to do for others, it is just never enough for them? You try your hardest to assist them in any way you can and somehow they just want more from you. They expect more from you. I have been through all of that, not everyday, but often enough that I do get tired to please everyone around me. But, I don't simply stop doing it, I keep trying to make people around me happy because I just love doing so. It's my job to make people feel assured and leave the place that they're in with a smile, making them feel better. However, I do have my restrictions too, as do all other workplaces do.

Working in a health care environment has it's ups and downs. We have to constantly be at our best, keep up with changes, know a lot of things in the shortest amount of time. Most of the time it is such a pleasant environment to work in, you making someones' day, or them making your day. Of course coming to a hospital for a doctor's follow up is never exciting for us. It's not our choice, but we have to do it at some point of time whether we like it or not. Our job is to make people feel as secure as we can and if not all, most of your questions answered and you leaving with a clear mind after your appointments. But no matter what, we are only human too. We do make some mistakes along the way too. Although we do try not to make mistakes because it is after all a hospital, so we have to be tip top in what we do because that is what people expect and want from us. What we call 'Human Error', no matter how hard we try to be perfect and not make mistakes, we do make them, and for that part, on behalf of everyone and myself, I sincerely apologise. I know that will not make time for the fact that precious time was wasted coming down, but I do hope that you know how bad we feel and because it is our fault, and because we will try our best not to make mistakes.

We are pretty much use to having people screaming at us, saying that we are stupid, and so on. To some, it is considered verbal abuse(or maybe not because somehow saying stupid is a normal thing these days), but for us, we have to shrug it off. Don't get me wrong, it is frustrating and it will make us sad when someone say  that you're stupid, however, we can't really say anything to defend ourselves. We apologise for being called stupid. Apologising even after being hurt by words, which is probably our fault for making mistakes, or maybe the system error, either way, they tend to become our fault in the end. Which then leads to us not taking things to our heart no matter how upset we get, we have to let it go. We have to learn that when those things are being said to us, they do not mean it. It is said out of anger. We constantly accept the apology that was never said. Our heart tend to harden. Some of us become unhappy with what we are doing, yet hang on to it because we are comfortable in what we are doing. It has become our routine. I see it happen where I work. Which is not a very positive attitude to have working as a front-line staff.

No, I am not saying bad things about working in a health care environment. It is fun, I do love my job, I really love what I'm doing. I love how I can interact with people and put a smile on their faces at the end of their visit. It makes me feel happy. I try not to let things like this affect me in every way that I can. For every mistake and complains that you get, there will be others complimenting you on your good service. At the end of the day, it is not everyday that you will receive complains. For every complains, there will be 5 people who is grateful of your customer service. There will be good days too. We have to appreciate and be grateful with what we are doing, then, we are able to give our best customer service from our heart genuinely. Because no matter how bad our day is, there will be someone out there who is having it worse than us.

It is indeed very hard to satisfy one self. Be it to satisfy a person or our own self. Everyone wants to be appreciated, so in order for that to happen, we have to appreciate what we have first in order to be appreciated by others.

Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you'll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you'll find that you have more of it.

Till then,
XOXO

Lazy, Signs, Perfection.

One of those days I don't know what the title of the post should be. So, this will do. Wow, been such a long time since I last posted. Life has taken over. Bleargh. No I am not a busy person, just lazy probably. Sorry?

Source:Tumblr

So, recently, I have been reading posts regarding how to know he loves you, 15 signs he likes you, or 10 signs he loves you or 12 signs you've found the perfect man and it goes on and on. I've been seeing that a lot on Facebook. And I read them out of curiosity, don't know why I did that. Normally, I try not to let an article relate to my relationship, because by doing so, I start to compare. And when I start to compare, I will start to have all these expectations which will then end up in disappointment. I will start to believe that in order for him to be the perfect boyfriend, he has to at least have to have those characteristics mentioned in that article that I had just read. And I will begin to question if he is the right one for me because the article that I just read does not reflect most of the characteristics that my partner should have. I will then start to think that in order for him to be a good partner, he has to do things or behave in a certain way the mentioned in the article. Probably most of the things being listed in the article has most of the characteristics that your partner has, if that's the case, that's really good. For those who does not have that, what then? That does not mean he is not the perfect one for you. What I can say is that appreciate your partner for who he is. No one is perfectly perfect. I would say that the most perfect person is probably perfectly imperfect too. If that even makes sense. We're all flawed beings, no matter how hard we try to be perfect. It's easy to say, accept and embrace your imperfections, someone out there will love you despite of all that. But I guess, sometimes, it's not as easy.

Now, I don't have anything against all of those articles. If it makes you feel better by reading it, by all means. It's not wrong to want assurance, just don't let it affect you too much. In the end, it is a source of entertainment. However, to me, if you love and care for someone, that person will put a smile to your face, every end of the day. And if you're in a fight, you'll both somehow turn to each other and find ways to solve it. Being in a relationship is not always rainbows. It's hard. Sometimes you can expect a little thunderstorm along the way, and most of the time, the rain will stop and the sun will put a smile on your face again. No matter how bad or how big the fight is, you'll learn to handle it with each other. It will make you stronger, hopefully. I am no expert, sometimes I don't even take my own advice to use. However, I know that if you love someone and care for that person, you will try to make that person feel that no matter how flawed he/she is, you will try to at least adapt to it, you don't have to necessarily accept how they are, but you will learn to give and take on this one. Also, by giving and taking, you have to know when to draw the line between a healthy relationship or an unhealthy one. You have to know what you really want out of this. Happiness or pain. Does it make you happy? Or are you unhappy most of the time. You are your own judge to your happiness, only you can tell if you're happy in the relationship that you're in. No one can tell you what to do in this one, after all, it is your life. So, you decide your own happy ending.

I hope all of you are doing great wherever you are.

Till then,
XOXO

A Purple Affair: The Engagement

22 February 2012

Finally, the day that I have been waiting for came and ended. It was a bittersweet moment all the hard work put in to make the day go as perfectly as possible, paid off. All the chocolate houses, the gift sets, the hampers and other gifts, had been laid out nicely on the tray to bring over to the girl. Sooo many chocolates, a year supply of it. Good luck finishing them, Huda.

On that actual day, it was very busy, there was so much to do as we have his aunts and uncles and guests coming over. The food came in the morning and I was too busy doing things to even eat. Haha, I wanted everything to be laid out perfectly and the food that his aunts brought over, to be arranged out nicely for everyone to eat. The brownies, I must say was so delicious! So, as I said it was a very busy day, it really was, and I try as much to help his mum out where I can as his mum was busy entertaining relatives and guests. Relatives brought in dulang as well to hand over to the girl, so we pretty much had lots of trays to carry, it was very pretty, and yes, we are very proud of the hard work put in to it. At about 3.30 pm, we headed to the girls place laid our items and took some pictures. I of course had in mind the tray that I wanted to carry. Once we reached the Huda's place, we went in to take some pictures with her. Huda is indeed very beautiful. Our theme colour was purple, and hers is red and orange. So, here I go posting some pictures.

So, congratulations to Huda and Shafiq on your engagement! His aunts keep teasing next will be my turn. But not quite yet. The next big event is Kak Aisyah and Abang Hafiz's wedding! Yeah, yeah, I get excited over little things!

Hope you all are having a nice weekend. I spent my Sunday washing my clothes (2 weeks worth of clothes not washed as I was lazy), cleaned up my room a bit and a whole lot of resting! So, how did you spend your weekend?

Till then,

XOXO

Fault In Our Stars, Divergent, Carrie.

Hello everyone, how are you all doing this fine day? Good I hope? Recently, I have been into reading books. I have stopped reading for quite some time, I got too busy to read(excuses, excuses), which is pretty sad as I loved reading. The last book that I read, I am still halfway through reading and I have been on that book since middle of last year. It was the book Wicked. Yeah, that was how long I stopped reading. But, I am getting back on it, hopefully, to finish that book that I halfway read

Everyone has been talking about a book called The Fault In Our Stars. I am choosy with books as I don't really read a lot nowadays. So, I decided go give Fault In Our Stars a try, and I freaking teared up at the end of the book. Like, all these sad emotions just comes and there you go, crying over a book. Well, I pretty much expected this to happen before even starting to read the book. It was an emotional read. And now, I found out they were making a movie out of the book, yes, I know I'm a bit lacking behind. So I went on what you call a place for videos, YouTube, to watch this trailer, which I regret doing so, as I know very well that I am an impatient person. I can't wait to watch the movie. So much anticipation here. I hope the movie is as good as the book itself. I'm a simple person, so no matter how bad the movie is, I will still think that it's a good movie. They really follow the lines from the book, which made me smile throughout the trailer itself. The thing that I can't forget from the book is when Augustus Waters told Hazel Grace about the PET scan. He lit up like a Christmas tree. Sigh, my heart just sank when I read that line. I know, The Fault In Our Stars is definitely going to be good. I can feel it. Anyway,  will star in the movie as well, so how can you not watch it. I love her in Secret Life, though as annoying as her character that she plays in is, she is a good actress. Which then brings me to Divergent. I told you, so much anticipation. I seriously cannot wait for Divergent. And no, I have yet to read the book, but I'm on it. Will get the book when I can.

I watched Carrie few days ago and let me tell you, it was good. See, I told you I am a simple person. I have seen bad reviews about the movie, but I really like it. And I saw a familiar face, the guy that was going to play Augustus in the movie. Well, I pretty much got a bit excited about it. To be fair, they kinda deserve what happened to them in prom. I mean, they were pretty hard on Carrie White. Not Tommy though, that's just sad. He did not deserve to die. A movie like this is probably not my thing to watch alone because I just get scared easily, but I forced myself to. And, this was an exception because I know it doesn't involve scary ghosts popping out of nowhere or and sound effects which gets louder as the ghosts appear or anything, just Carrie White, but, I still freaked a bit towards the end. She was pretty much killing people, how was I not scared. I feel sad for her though, she had a hard life in school. Everyone pretty much thinks she's a freak. In all honesty Carrie White, you are not a freak. You're just beautiful.

It's Friday today and I am happy as I am on half day leave today, and I'll be going over to Woodlands to finish up on the engagement decorations and all. I cannot wait for tomorrow! All the hard work to put it all together finally paid off! Hopefully, everything will run smoothly!

Have a nice weekend!

Till then,
XOXO

Thank you for letting me go, I found the perfect man.

Recently, I came across an article that really opened up my mind. Not that I did not realise this in the beginning but somehow, it got to me. Yes, if you ask me, my previous relationship did not end off in a good mutual way. I was heartbroken. But now, thinking back, I feel very thankful that it actually ended. I got to meet the most amazing man in my life. Haziq. He has been there for me most of the time, cheering me up, bringing me out, making me fall in love over and over again with him. Anyway, the article that I read is actually a blog post by Juli Wilson. It's called 'To The Guy That Broke My Heart. I will link it below as well. It's actually a nice post to read up on.

I still remember clearly during my polytechnic days, I would pretend not to see him whenever I saw him standing there because I was just that shy to approach him and say Hi. We were just starting to communicate through text message so therefore face-to-face communication was scary to me. Though, I don't know if he saw me, that's a question that I have to ask him. Hehe. Now, I'm just thankful that I have him in my life and I know I can depend when I need him. I'm really excited to start a new life with him.

As some of you may know(pretend people are actually reading, when I'm pretty sure no one knows about this blog), the engagement is coming up. It is actually next week and I now began to realise we only have a week to finish up doing the gubahan and all. Panic mode. I don't know why I'm feeling the pressure and stress, it's not my engagement, it's his brother's engagement ceremony, probably because I have to help his mum and all. It's fun and everything is almost done and I am pretty happy with what I had prepared and decorated. Only concern is that the kain that we sent to the tailor to make out Baju Kurung, might not be done in time for the engagement. I'm hoping that the tailor can work her magic though. Because I really want to wear the Baju Kurung! I will try to snap some pictures of the things that are done. Some of it was hand made, some was sent to Malaysia for them to help us with the decorations. Although we are trying to be creative there are some things that we should leave it to the professionals. Hehe..

Hope you all are doing well, and spending more time with your loved ones during Valentines Day. And no, I do not celebrate Valentines, but to all of you out there, hope you'll have a great day!

Till then, XOXO

2014, CNY, Busy, Movie catch-up!

It has been a great start to 2014 I must say, alhamdulillah.

And then there is the Chinese New Year period coming. Yes, I am not so much excited about it, although I should be. Long weekend and what not. Work has been intense and it's gonna be like that for next week as well. I don't know what it is, I try to give my all in work but somehow there's just something lacking. I don't really understand how people want us to be? Like for example I have to call people just to inform of the date and time somehow I'm the one getting scolded for no particular reason just for wanting to notify them of an appointment. I think it's the CNY stress getting to them. But then again, I should learn not to take things to heart. How can I not though? I greet them nicely and speak in a nice manner. Not even a thank you from those not so nice people. I'm the one saying thank you at the end of the calls. What is going on here. I think there must be more ungrateful people here. Like what happened to our courtesy and manners? Why are there so many grumpy people. Makes the world much more sadder to live in. Okay enough rantings, just move on and keep being happy and don't let it get to you. That's what I keep telling myself to do every single day. Don't get me wrong, I love my job most of the days, just some days, not loving them.

So, if it's not too late, here's wishing a Happy Chinese New Year to all my Chinese friends! Gong Xi Fa Cai! Hope you'll have a prosperous new year with health and wealth!

On the brighter side of things, I find that for me, things are starting to fall into place. Alhamdulillah, I am really thankful! On Thursday was my appointment with HDB. Thankfully, we got the unit that we wanted. So very happy about it!  And that was also my mum's birthday. For the celebration of both my mummy and my brothers' birthday, we went to Swensens! It was so nice being together as a family! Especially on birthdays! We went to Changi Airport and there was this Spongebob Display, so I kinda got a bit over-excited about it.

Movie Catch-Up

So, the boyfriend and I have been watching a few movies and well, what is there to do going out on a date? Haha, yeah, we just love watching movies! And finally a Saturday that I can spend with him as we don't normally go out. So, going out on a Saturday feels amazing. I really miss going out and spending more time with him all to myself. But sadly, we have responsibilities to carry out. I have work, and he has his NS still. Which I might add, is finishing soon. Finally graduating from NS, in their case they call it ORD. Which means they are finally done serving 2 years of National Service. No, I shall not pressure him with what he has to do after that. Obviously he has to go straight to working. I am definitely proud of my man.

Okay, so I might have gotten sidetrack abit there. Anyways, I spent some time to catch-up on movies, and no, we did not watch all of it within a day, but over a period of time. I just wated to share what I thought about the movie.

I, Frankenstein

I thought it was a pretty good film. Though the boyfriend did not agree with me on this one. I honestly really like the movie. I guess, not everyone will like this movie. I got  bit confused in the beginning of the movie. 2 sides were actually after Frankenstein but overall, I find that it was a pretty decent movie.

Devils due

Alright, I must admit, I felt pretty stupid getting nervous at the start of watching this movie. I'm not trying to say that it's not scary, but I just felt that they could have done more for the movie? But anyway, it was an okay movie, not what I expected at all. And I didn't really find a picture to put it in due to blogging at night and I don't really wanna find scary pictures popping out and scaring myself in the dark.

There were some other movies that we watched, which I will definitely blog some other time. Moving on, I have been catching up on english dramas as well. One of my favourites has go to be Baby Daddy!

Baby Daddy

Okay, who else is seriously hooked on this show! Seriously, how can you not be? It has two of my favourite people in it. Jean -Luc and Chelsea Staub. So towards the Season I've been wanting for Ben and Riley to just get together already. I shall not comment any further, not wanting to spoil anything, but seriously, it's such and amazing drama to watch! Isn't Emma just adorable!

To end of this post, we celebrated kak Aisyah's birthday in January as well! We all gathered over at our boyfriend's place so that we could surprise her by being there. She really did not know we were there!

They actually surprised me with a cake as well as I did not have the cake cutting on my birthday itself. I was so shy! Haha, but it was a nice feeling. I could not be more thankful! Ahhhh!
Okay, I shall end it off for now.

Till then,
XOXO

New Year, No resolutions yet, nice blog and addicted to youtube.

So, it is already the start of the new year. Really don't know whether I should be happy about it or not? I feel that 2013 flew by very fast. Like lightning. Don't you? No resolutions what-so-ever. I really don't fulfil them, so I just don't really have them.

Wow, I really do not know if the things that I wanted to do in 2013 has already been done? But whatever it is I had a really nice 2013. I hope you did too! Although, I did not really do much on new year's eve. Neither did anything on new year's itself too. Well, I'm just not the kind of person who goes all out in welcoming the new year. Whoops? I'm a stay in kinda girl, really hates crowds so much. Yeah, I get easily irritated. I just pretty much stayed at the boyfriends place while waiting for him to end work, and trying so hard to stay awake! Haha, yeah I like to sleep early too. But I did went to his relative place though, for a housewarming. I was really nice as it was a different culture. His mum side has Indian blood btw, and it was such a nice new experience for me. Yes, I really enjoyed myself. The food, oh, the food was so amazing! It was so delicious that I took two servings of rice! I don't usually eat much rice, but their curry was so delicious I just gave in to that.

Okay, so I was looking through facebook, and came across this link that a friend shared. It is a guy who blogs about 'Understanding your NSF boyfriend better' that caught my attention. So, I went on and read about it, and I really liked what he wrote about. Yes, as you can already guess, my boyfriend is still serving his National Service. He's in the Army, and it was really difficult for us in the beginning, not that we don't have problems here and there now, but we learn to deal with it better. Does that make sense? Well, it was never easy, I like seeing him, I like spending time with him, but time is always not on his side. He is still undergoing the book in, book out routine. Yeah, I find that annoying, but I learn to understand that he kinda doesn't have a choice. So, I try putting myself in his shoes, he's the one going through all of these, how much time he does not get to himself to be able to do the things that he want to do. I nag lesser and I complain lesser to him. The decisions and plans that he made always has a reason behind it. So, I just have to be thankful and went along with it.

Yes, I can say I am a proud girlfriend. How he managed to not vent his unhappiness at me even after what he had been through the week in camp. It's true, they don't share their problems, but I do constantly ask him if he's okay how was his week and all. They will open up at some point, but I know him well, he does not like talking about his problems with me unless it is really bothering him. And now, he just have 6 more months to go to finally ORD. Yes, I am very happy about it. He has been going on about wanting to work and all. I really am thankful that we managed to pull through it together, we learn to grow together, becoming better individuals together. It takes a lot of patience and understanding, but there's also the part where you have to work together in this. Just a simple text will make the other smile. Also, understand that your boyfriend is in camp and it may be difficult for him to get in touch with his phone. Always have each others' back, and hopefully it'll make things easier.

So, here it is the link to his blog: http://www.derickwjtan.me/

And here is the link to the post about understanding your NSF boyfriend better:

Trust me, you'll like what he writes about, at least I know I do.

Yes, I'm sure some of you might have this same addiction. I just really can't stop watching videos on Youtube. Like I can spend like half a day watching videos after videos and still think that it's not enough and I do it again before I go to bed. And I still watch it even though I'm falling asleep and the phone keeps falling to my face. Them. They are the one's keeping me from getting away from Youtube apart from Ellen.

Hope you'll have a nice start on a new year, with new resolutions.

Till then,
XOXO
